If it would have stayed in its original Decemslot, it would have faced some blockbuster competition with Disney's Star Wars: Episode VII and Universal's comedy The Nest. The adaptation of Dan Brown's novel will now go up against Universal's A Monster Calls on October 14, 2016. Originally scheduled for release on December 18, 2015, Sony Pictures has moved The Da Vinci Code sequel Inferno to October 14, 2016.
